Miyazaki Prefecture is located in the southeastern part of Japan's Kyushu island.
Miyazaki cattle have won the Prime Minister's Award at the National Competitive Exhibition of Wagyu (Zenkoku Wagyu Noryoku Kyoshinkai), which is known as the Olympics of Wagyu, for three consecutive years, and the equivalent of one head of Miyazaki beef is presented to the winning wrestler of Japan's national sport, Sumo.
